Important Information for Employers

  • Employer Frequently Asked Questions and COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
  • Employer Notification to Employees of the Availability of Unemployment Compensation
  • Please note the Employer Billing Statements for unemployment insurance contributions will only be available through the online Employer Self Service (ESS), this became effective in March 2020. Employers can view online billing statements by logging into their ESS account at ui.nv.gov
  • Employer Correspondence: Due to unforeseen mailing delays as a result of Covid19, we encourage employers to utilize the Employer Self Service portal on UInv. While the Department works to resolve these delays, we will give consideration to impending Adjudication and Appeals timelines. The Department asks for Employers to make their best effort to provide the required unemployment information.
  • Employer Charging: Please note, the 1st quarter 2020 Contributory Charge Statements and Reimbursable Billing Statements scheduled for mailing beginning May 22, 2020 will only be available through the online Employer Self Service (ESS) system. Employers may now view online Contributory Charge Statements and Reimbursable Billing Statements by logging into their ESS account. DETR is exploring options to provide relief of charges as outlined in the Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Affected employers will be notified of how charging relief will occur once the process for providing this relief is finalized.
  • Did you have someone refuse your offer of employment? Or how about an employee who refused to return to work? These situations are reportable and should be brought to our attention. Nevada law prohibits individuals from receiving unemployment benefits if they refuse to accept offers of suitable work, or quit work, without good cause.  Employers should provide information regarding employment refusals or employees who refuse an offer to return to work by emailing our Business Service Office at: [email protected] with the subject line "Work Refusals".  Please include as much of the following information as possible:  employer information - name, address, employer account number or FEIN and contact person; individual's full name, last 4 of SSN, address, phone number, date the individual was contacted and offered employment, method of the offer (in-person, phone, email, etc.), refusal method used by the individual (in-person, phone, email, etc.) and reason the individual gave for not being able to accept or return to work.
